Job Description

In this role you’ll play a vital role in the Templates team management, defining a clear technical workflow, overseeing design standards, and managing strategy and ongoing tasks for the templates tech-design team. You’ll also:

Lead and mentor a team of tech-designers, guiding their growth, skill development, and creative output
Build, work on and manage various tech-design projects and websites that reach millions of users every day
Use your in-depth knowledge of the Wix platform to make sure the team provides high quality materials that are consistent with product and company guidelines
Oversee and improve the design and technical process by keeping up with the latest Wix feature releases, as well as what’s happening in the industry
Work with operations, product managers, visual experts, designers and QA teams to fully understand requirements, and bridge gaps between technical issues, accessibility and product limitations, to deliver the best solutions for templates
Be the team expert on Wix products, our template creation work methods and our team’s QA practices and rules
Ensure the templates we create are not only well-designed, but also top-notch digital products with great performance, interactions, and behaviors
Develop innovative new work methods to help maximize efficiency in the team

Qualifications:

A tech-design lead with 4+ years of experience in a web creation environment, excellent design skills, along with a strong tendency to mentor, lead and grow the tech-design team
Proven experience in web creation, with a portfolio showcasing diverse web projects, and familiarity with web development technologies and trends
Knowledge of the various Wix platforms and products and the desire to learn them all in great depth
An expert in Photoshop and Illustrator (Figma, Adobe CC — an advantage)
Familiarity with CMS, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and responsive design
Leadership skills to inspire and guide a tech-design team and play an important role in co-managing complex and large scale projects in a matrix structure
Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a challenging environment
Proficiency in written and spoken English with excellent communication skills
Flexible, cross-functional, and you feel at home working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
A fast learner, who’s self-motivated, detail-oriented and committed to growing and leading their team to new professional heights
