We sat down with Dor, Eylon and Roni, three Product Managers with different backgrounds at Wix, to learn about their journey into product, how the Wix SPM Program helped shape their career, and what it’s like to be a PM at Wix. All three started their product career from scratch when they joined the student program, and now, they’re building products that impact millions.

How did the Wix SPM program help you take the leap into product?

Eylon: I came from a UX background, and I decided my passion was shifting more into product and less in design. I didn’t want to just be a product manager – I wanted to be a product manager at Wix. That’s what I said in my interview. We didn’t talk about general products, we talked about actual Wix products.

Dor: After meeting really inspiring product managers and mentors, it opened my eyes to how creative the job is, and how it mixes art and business. I was older and didn’t really have a background in tech, but the SPM program gave me a chance I wouldn’t have gotten anywhere else.

Roni: I was a financial analyst, but was drawn to tech and user experience. The program took individuals without prior experience and within 12 months of learning and practice, we were product managers. It was a rare opportunity and I’ve never seen anything like that. ay.

What were the highlights of the Wix SPM Program?

Eylon: The program leaders teach you the art of product management from A to Z. You get access to all parts of Wix, with close mentoring from super talented people. You do real product tasks and present a final project to the VP of Product. It’s hands-on, and it gives you real experience. They also really actually got to know us as students and matched our career paths to our existing strengths. I came from a UX background, so I joined the Wix Studio. Someone else more technical went on to be a technical product manager focused on infrastructure products. It wasn’t one-size-fits-all.

Dor: For me, the fact that Wix gave me almost a year to really learn was huge. Other programs want you to ‘work’ earlier. Here, they walk with you step by step, and even after the bootcamp ended, my mentoring continued. Now that I’m a team lead, I mentor new PMs myself so it feels full circle.

"There’s emotion in product, a good product creates a feeling, tells a story, or gives the user an experience. It’s not just about logic" - Dor

What was an experience you had early on as a product manager that helped define your passion?

Eylon: We noticed a common complaint when I started working at Wix Studio, users were unhappy with how their mobile site looked after building it on desktop. We had a mobile editor feature, but 70% weren’t using it. We realized users expect it to happen automatically. That insight led us to build a desktop-to-mobile layout conversion algorithm.

Dor: After 20–30 user interviews, I realized that each country has its own way of doing order fulfillment and has their own delivery methods, which really affects their local businesses dramatically. That was the ‘aha’ moment for my team, and we immediately developed a solution to offer pickup points during checkout.

Roni: The mobile app onboarding screen is the first thing our users' customers see, so it’s critical. We did serious product research and UX testing before sending it to development. It was exciting to work on something so strategic.

What makes being a product manager at Wix unique?

Dor: At Wix we have an obsession with understanding our users. The way a problem connects to strategy, KPIs and the final spec – it’s all part of the same thread. Plus, PMs here don’t just hand off research to someone else. We own the roadmap from start to finish.

Eylon: Wix is a product company with insane infrastructure. You can get any report imaginable. I'm not just talking dashboards – we can even break down how much revenue each feature earns or loses. I know a lot of companies say they're data-driven, but no one goes as deep as Wix.

Roni: The Product Guild sets the standards. It keeps us aligned, teaches evolving methods, and makes sure we’re learning how to really listen to users or run competitive research. With over 40 products and millions of users, it helps us stay sharp.

What makes a product manager great?

Eylon: It’s all about discovery and delivery. You’re either pushing new features into development, or figuring out what comes next.

Roni: It’s about having a solid understanding of several professions. That’s the only way you can really challenge the team’s work to ensure we launch the best product we can.

Dor: A great product manager has an artistic side. There’s emotion in product; a good product creates a feeling or tells a story or gives the user an experience. It’s not just about logic.

Do you have any advice for aspiring product managers?

Eylon: People who succeed as a PM have an entrepreneurial spirit. You’re the mini-CEO of your product. You need to lead, learn fast, and spot opportunities others might miss. Product managers at Wix don’t just follow a roadmap – they help define it.

Dor: Don’t disqualify yourself. If you’re curious and want to solve real problems, being a PM is for you.

Roni: Help others, collaborate, and stay curious. That’s what got me through the hardest days.

What’s your favorite product?

Roni: For me, the answer is clear: TikTok! It brought something completely new to the market. The algorithm is so accurate, it sets a whole new benchmark. It’s smart enough to catch not only what I generally like, but what I’m in the mood for right now. TikTok was able to crack the exact moments where an app meets the user.

Dor: Wolt Market is my favorite product, simply because of its functionality. It makes my life easier and solves a real problem for me. I always know I’m 40 minutes away from everything I need, and that creates real peace of mind.If you took it away from me today, it’d feel like going back a hundred years. That kind of dependency on a product? That’s the sign of something truly great.
