Job Description
If you want to work where AI, developer tools and the entire Wix platform meet, this team is for you. We're building how Wix sites are extended with code in the age of Vibe Coding: an orchestration layer, an AI agent that writes code, and an IDE built into Wix products.
- You'll be a true xEngineer here, working on frontend, backend and AI agents. You'll own complex systems that touch almost every part of the Wix Developer Platform, and along the way you'll learn how Wix works as a whole.
- Build and evolve the Studio 2 Orchestrator - connecting Developer Platform components such as Remote Machine, Code Store, BaaS, Wix CLI and Dev Center into one smooth development experience
- Develop Wix Code Codegen, an AI agent that generates production-ready code for Wix’s new generation editors - Studio 2 and Harmony
- Build the IDE Platform, a reusable VS Code-based React component used in Studio, Velo and Wix Vibe
- Own features end to end across the stack, from React UIs to backend services and from architecture through production
- Work with Developer Platform teams and core Wix teams (Editors, Viewer, MetaSite and more) to design solutions that span systems
- Help decide how the Wix Developer Platform should work in the world of Vibe Coding
Requirements
- Experienced software engineer with a strong background building production systems
- Strong full stack skills. You might come from a frontend or backend background, but you can and want to work across both
- Strong programming skills in TypeScript / JavaScript, with hands-on experience in React and Node.js
- A proven ownership mindset: you take features from design to production and stay responsible for them afterward
- A great team player with strong communication skills and real curiosity about the wider Wix ecosystem, beyond your own domain
- Experience with AI agents / LLM-based products or developer tools – an advantage
About the Team
The DevEnv team is part of Wix Code and is the Developer Platform’s gateway in the Vibe Coding domain. We own, among others, three connected products: the Studio 2 Orchestrator, the layer for extending Wix sites with code; Wix Code Codegen, an AI agent for code generation in Studio 2 and Harmony; and the IDE Platform, a reusable VS Code-based component used in Studio, Velo and Wix Vibe.
What defines our work is breadth. The Orchestrator connects many Developer Platform services, including Remote Machine, Code Store, BaaS, Wix CLI and Dev Center. Our AI agent and IDE have to understand core Wix: the Editors, the Viewer, MetaSite and more. Few teams at Wix see this much of the system, and that deep, cross-platform knowledge is both what the role requires and what it gives you.
We’re a true cross-engineering team. On any given day you might build a React UI, design a backend service, improve an AI agent’s code quality or integrate a new platform component.
